of biological functions, including protection of cells from oxidative damage by free radicals, detoxification of xenobiotics, and membrane transport. GSS functions as a homodimer to catalyze the second step of glutathione biosynthesis, which is the ATP-dependent conversion of gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteine to glutathione. Defects in GSS are a cause of glutathione synthetase deficiency (1). Recommended Applications WB, IHC, FC Applications and Recommended Dilution Factors WB: 1:10,000 - 50,000 IHC: 1:50 - 100 FC: 1:100 - 500 Species Reactivity * Human, Mouse, Rat *Species cross-reactivity is based on WB analysis. Products Data Western blot analysis on (A) 293T, (B) HeLa, (C) SW480, and (D) HT-1080 cell lysates using anti-GSS RabMAb (cat. #5220-1). Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue using anti- GSS RabMAb (cat. #5220-1). Specificity A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human GSS was used as an immunogen. |
