Background RANTES/CCL5 is a potent CC chemokine shown to play an important role in rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis. RANTES/CCL5 primarily attracts lymphocytes and monocytes as well as other cell types. Rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts produce RANTES/CCL5 upon stimulation with TNF-α, IL-1β, or interferon gamma[1]. |
