Storage & Stability Lyophilized recombinant Rat Interleukin-7, His (CHO-expressed) (rRtIL-7, His) is stored at -20°C. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer. Background IL-7 is a member of the common γ chain (γc-CD132) family of cytokines that include interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15, and IL-21. IL-7 plays multiple important roles during B cell lymphopoiesis. Prior to very early B cell development, IL-7 promotes the commitment of CLP cells to the B-lineage[1]. IL-7 has been demonstrated to be necessary for both B-cell and T-cell proliferation and lack of IL-7 causes immature immune cell arrest. IL-7 has been found to play a critical role in the development of B-cells. IL-7 can act as a trophic factor in many developing B-cells. IL-7 has been demonstrated to enhance thymocyte viability. IL-7 has anti-apoptotic effects which involve BCL2 associated X protein (BAX) which is part of the BCL-2 gene family[2]. |
